On Thursday 21st February the team made their way to London again for London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House. We attended the 'trend' show on the day, instead of the 'designer' show. Four different trends were shown to us from a whole host of designers and brands, here are two reviews from our team;
"The catwalk displayed a visual feast for the eyes with the graphics trend inspired by the swinging 60's, boasting with bold jersey geometric patterns in flashes of blue, oranges, monochromes.
Get ready for work with the urban lifestyle trend with a classic yet contemporary feel brought to your office with khaki shades of green on fitted dresses, denim parkas and pencil skirts teamed with bowler hats and quirky accessories (bike shaped glasses).
Eastern promise was a exotic delight with a blend of detailed embroidery, billowing materials in regal shades of golds, blues, oranges and pinks, adorning your head with a statement floral head piece.
Look pretty in pink with the Dolls House trend, think floral details amidst Perspex plastic skirts and metallic jackets to fuse the soft pastel hues." Lizzy, Third Floor Features Writer.
"Graphic Art: This trend was my favourite of the four, I really liked the artistic geometric patterns featuring an almost modernised 60s feel. I also liked the bright splashes of colour paired with the monochrome outfits like bright acid green. I also REALLY liked the futuristic shoes which had block silver heels and almost looked like they wrapped around the foot.
Urban Lifestyle: This trend I didn't think really worked, I didn't understand, it all seemed slightly mismatched but I did like Peridot London outfits which had a floaty smart look about them.
Eastern Promise: This trend was beautiful, the headpieces were exquisite and the floaty finale dress with the assymetric hem was the highlight. I also liked the detailed tribal necklaces that chimmed down the catwalk.
Dolls House: This trend was SUPER girlie, pink pink and roses. The rose prints were lovely." Hannah, Third Floor Project Manager.
